How to Measure Your Nails for the Perfect Fit

Getting the right nail size is important for a comfortable fit and a beautiful, long-lasting manicure. Follow these simple steps to measure your nails accurately before placing your order.

What You'll Need

• Clear tape (or masking tape)

• A fine-tip pen or marker

• A ruler with millimeter (mm) measurements

Step 1: Apply the Tape

Place a small piece of clear tape across the widest part of your natural nail, from sidewall to sidewall.

Step 2: Mark the Width

Using a pen, place a small mark on the tape where each side of your nail ends. Make sure you're marking the widest part of the nail.

Step 3: Remove the Tape

Carefully peel the tape off your nail and place it on a flat surface.

Step 4: Measure in Millimeters

Use a ruler to measure the distance between the two marks in millimeters (mm). Record the measurement for that nail.

Step 5: Repeat for All 10 Nails

Measure each nail individually, including both thumbs. It's common for nails on opposite hands to vary slightly in size.

Step 6: Compare to Our Size Chart

Once you have all 10 measurements, compare them to The Nail Cottage size chart to determine your best fit. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up for the most comfortable fit.

• Take measurements twice to ensure accuracy.
